About

As a 20-year-old cybersecurity enthusiast, I bring a unique blend of military discipline and civilian experience to the tech world. Currently serving as a Radio Operator in the USMCR with an active Secret/SCI clearance, I specialize in communications systems and cybersecurity protocols. My military role has given me hands-on experience with various communication technologies, from HF/VHF/UHF/IW/3G systems to satellite communications.

While maintaining my military commitments, I’m pursuing my education at Massasoit Community College where I maintain a strong 3.6 GPA. My academic journey is focused on completing my general education requirements before transferring to Bridgewater State University to pursue a Cybersecurity degree. This strategic path allows me to build a solid educational foundation while gaining practical experience in the field.

My professional background includes managing a high-volume McDonald’s location and supervising security operations, where I’ve developed valuable skills in team leadership, process improvement, and technical troubleshooting. I’ve particularly enjoyed creating automated solutions, such as developing Excel-based security tracking systems and implementing technical fixes for POS systems.

In terms of technical skills, I have advanced experience in Java programming and am currently developing my Python skills. My website (barrosjosh-tech.preview-domain.com) showcases my growing portfolio and technical capabilities.

My career goals in cybersecurity are shaped by my military experience and passion for technology. I aim to leverage my unique combination of communications expertise, security clearance, and hands-on technical experience to pursue a role in defensive cybersecurity operations. I’m particularly interested in systems security and network defense, areas where my military communications background provides valuable perspective.
